Wanderfugl exists because I believe travel should feel inspiring, not overwhelming. Some of the most meaningful moments in my life have come from following curiosity into the world—dive sites tucked under ice, long quiet trails in Norway, unexpected conversations on boats and mountains. Those moments changed me. And I want more people to have access to experiences like that without fighting through hours of tabs, research, or logistics.

Wanderfugl is built to make trip planning feel like discovery again. You tell it the kind of experience you're dreaming about, and it helps you explore possibilities, shape ideas, and build a trip that feels personally meaningful. It's a tool made with care for people who want their time on earth to feel vivid, intentional, and alive.

About Me

I'm Jonathon Ready, the creator of Wanderfugl. Before starting this project, I worked at Microsoft, where I focused on large-scale systems and built the compression method that reduced Windows Update sizes by 40%, work that earned me a patent. My professional background is in building tools that simplify complexity, but Wanderfugl is the first tool I've made that feels deeply personal.

I've been lucky to experience adventures that shaped who I am—living in Norway as a teenager, diving in remote waters, crossing mountain ranges, exploring places that made the world feel bigger. Wanderfugl is my way of helping others find the experiences that might shape them too.
